El Castillo in Moraira
 

The villa is located in Moraira. This former small fishing port is now a wonderful little city with fantastic tourism and plenty of cosy squares, terraces, bars and, of course, delicious restaurants, many of which specialise in fish. If you want to experience an authentic Spanish environment, Moraira can offer you plenty of opportunities to explore both the past and the present. Try visiting the old castle or the watchtower that was used to protect the town against pirates. Or why not check out the impressive yacht basin? This basin is protected by the rocks of cap Blanc and Punta de Moraira. Or, to get a real taste Spain, pick up your own fish for the day at the morning fish junction and take home to the barbeque!

The Beach
The coast has much to offer. You can find both adventurous rocky beaches and sandy beaches with fairly shallow waters that are perfect for children. Some beaches have even been rewarded with a European prize for clean and clear marine water. The largest beach is close to the city centre and is called L'Ampolla. The sandy beach at El Portet is also fantastic and offers a boulevard with restaurants and terraces. Sit down, enjoy the beach, the sun, a beverage and some tasty authentic Spanish food.

Other towns
Had enough of the beach? Try visiting Benissa (8 km) and its splendid old church. Altea (31 km) is also a good option. It has a wonderful city centre that will send you right back to the middle ages with its narrow streets and splendid views of the sea. In the area surrounding Montgo, you can discovery an interesting coastal town called Javea (12 km). Along the beautiful coastal road to the south, you can see about 11 km of the impressive rock Penon de Ifach (332 m). If you go inland, drive out to Aitana (80 km), where you can climb the highest mountain in the province (1558 m) and enjoy the fantastic panoramic view. On the way, you can view the wild landscapes and impressive mountain tops and check out Guadalest (42 km), a secluded mountain village built against the rocks.
